Indonesia Sumatra Mandheling
Many of the islands of Indonesia were formed by volcanoes and still benefit from soil that’s rich in volcanic ash and ideal for growing coffee.
Sumatra Mandheling Coffee is grown on the lofty volcanic slopes of Mt. Leuser near the port of Padang. Our Sumatra is Grade 1, double or triple hand sorted/inspected. This extra attention to quality control results in a consistent cup that includes coffee cherry picked at optimum ripeness.
Cupping Notes: Earthy, strong notes of cedar, sweet tobacco, chocolate, spices, with a winey-low acidity, full body and balanced.
Growing Altitude: 2500-5,000 ft.
Process: Wet hulled and sun dried
